An ode to Southeast Asian flavors

From the creators of seminal Bangkok venues Backstage Cocktail Bar, #FindTheLockerRoom, and #FindThePhotoBooth comes Mahaniyom Cocktail Bar

Playfully riffing on the Thai proverb ‘two tigers cannot share the same den,’ Ronnaporn "Neung" Kanivichaporn and Chennarong “Jan” Bhumichitr shatter that notion with their collaboration that’s represented through a neon two-headed tiger greeting guests on arrival, a symbol of the union of their creative bartending styles coming together under one traditional wooden Thai roof. Since opening in 2022, Mahaniyom has been awarded a slew of accolades, including snagging the No. 19 spot on the World’s 50 Best Bars list in 2023 and The Best New Opening on the Asia’s 50 Best Bars list in 2023.

Cow

With the theme Resourceful Cocktails, the current drinks menu pays homage to a series of local tastes, each drink honing in on just one ingredient in all of its derivative forms. For instance, Cow features brandy and red wine alongside brown butter, beef fat, clarified milk and blue cheese air, rounded by bright Thai mulberry; while Squid see the blend of vodka, mezcal, and sake with dried squid, squid ink, clarified tomato juice, and pickled ginger cordial, an ode to Southeast Asian flavors that is a common thread connecting all cocktails.

Mahaniyom sits atop popular nose-to-tail restaurant 100 Mahaseth, with the Northern Thai Isan food menu curated by its chefs Charlie Kader and Randy Noprapa, sharing materials between the two venues. Think papaya fritters, pulled beef jerky, and grilled pork with sticky rice – savory snacks that beckon visitors in for another sip.
