Honky Tonks Tavern Presents Asia's 50 Best Bars Kick-off Party – July 13
With so many talented bars landing in the Greater Bay Area for the awards, Honky Tonks Tavern is a hosting a veritable lineup of "lifelong friendships" from across Asia's top metropolises. The roster includes: Maria Escobia and Lai Ys of Penrose in Kuala Lumpur from 5-6:30pm, followed by Kazu Arai of Shanghai's Sober Company from 6:30-8pm. The night continues with the Bangkok duo of Chanel Adams of Bamboo Bar and Emma Florence Thompson of Tropic City from 8-10pm. Live DJ sets by Seba de La Cruz will keep the party rolling all night long.

Jon Lee, owner of Kuala Lumpur’s Penrose (No. 8, Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 and winner of the Highest Climber Award) and Brandon Tan are introducing their newest project, Lavantha. This just-opened bar in Kuala Lumpur is Jon Lee's next chapter, focusing on rich, layered, conversation-starting cocktails. Stefano will run the show first from 7-9pm, followed by Jon from 9-11pm.

Two bars from Kansai, Japan will take over Kinsman on July 14. First up, Lamp Bar (No. 55, Asia's 50 Best Bars 2024) from Nara led by Michito Kaneko (global champion of Diageo World Class) will be behind the stick, followed by Keisuke Yamamoto and Tatsunari Namatame from Bee's Knees in Kyoto from 9-11pm. Handshake Hermanos at Gokan – July 16
Two industry heavyweights for one night only to celebrate Gokan's one year anniversary and 10th guest shift since opening. Legendary No. 1 World's Best Bar 2024, Handshake Speakeasy led by Eric Van Beek will join forces with Gokan's very own Shingo Gokan for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And, making its debut in Hong Kong, Los Tacos Azules by Marco Garushia (widely regarded as Tokyo's finest Mexican establishment) will be serving up tacos, dips, and ceviche.
